TANLA is not an IT company but a real estate company which does not have any fundamentals and policies.Apart from silly restrictions (like u can have coffee only at the mentioned rather ordered time, Mobiles not allowed inside, Closing the main doors sharp at 9:10AM etc). They had a policy of sponsoring team outings but there had been never single occasion where they reimbursed the incurred(which is under the permissible limit)amount. When asked, they say they have been processing( for decades). They post 98% profit every QOQ by adopting innovative ideas like they swith on only couple of tubelights on each floor and the employees working in the dark! Some of them, who are not yet fired already turned blind
Indian law does not permit lay-offs. Learn how to take advantage of this: Layoffs by Indian IT companies is not legal. See this http://techemployee.blogspot.com/2009/07/is-firing-by-it-companies-legal.html
well said and they don’t accept any one who know better that those old employee, old employee work verbal communication afraid of writing mails because in mails they have to give commitment and they don’t want commitment that the reason they have only smsc which took 8 years to developed and 2 month to install on client side each time
To make tanla immortal, I strongly feel that the old donkeys i.e. directors, cfo, cto, coo etc ( and ofcourse they are nominal and i pity about the pathetic positions and their veto powers :-))
who failed to aniticipate the global recession should voluntarily resign and go at this point of time.
Confirmed layoffs from Tech Mahindra and Sasken in Bangalore
Rebaca Technologies lay off 20% of jobs.
i don’t understand why they are running company they should stop development center and open chat shop specially CTO and CMD

Polaris India has started firing its contractors. It is asking all employees to take 15% pay cut.HR department is sending employees on forced leave.
Accenture India laid off 500 in December.50% of people were on bench.Other were those who did not have very good rapport with Senior Manager.Layoffs mainly in Bangalore and Mumbai.Next round of layoff in February.
I am laid off on dec.2008 from accenture, mumbai….as of now i didnt get any new job…it seems no hopes……for few months….
[...] We have also received a report of Accenture layoffs in India coming [...]
Google India lays-off 150 programmers from its Bangalore office.Initially touted as major development center producing ‘cool Apps’,Google layoff is a major blow to Bangalore.Fortunately 3 months severance pay was given.
Tech mahindra Ltd is also started giving lay off
250 lay-offs by Accenture India this months.More heads to roll as company is finding tough to retain clients or get any work from outside.
Many employees are being forced to take leave and asked to go on vacation.
Friends be ready for another round of lay off in India . In mid off Feb most of the companies will fire almost 2000 people from their organization. Combinedly total numbers will be around 20,000.
Reasons: 1. No projects in pipe line
2. Customer are reducing their billing rate
3. Most of the customer companies have reduced the IT budget.
4. Huge bench strength
5. Too high salaried employees
6. Compines are in the radar of NASSCOM and SEBI to avoid the sitwation
like Satyam Scam
Thats true. Many including American and Indian IT companies are about to start another round of lay-offs starting from Feb.09.
Bulging bench size,no projects in viscinity and high salaries are primary reasons.
Unless you are expert in office politics or buttering your supervisor its difficult to suvive solely on basis of your work.
I can confirm that Mastek layed off around 500 workers this monday ie 2/2/09 in Bombay
HCL is also is in the race of firing its employees….
Internal figures says target is to hand over pink slip to 400 employees within month of february..ITs has been going since september 08.
IT consultants are in the line of fire.
Wipro Laid off 5000 employees in this quarter and planned to lay off more in next quarter after April 2009
Layoff is not good! Salary deduction is good.
True! companies are still posting so much of profits and still resort to such inhumane steps like firing out its employees. they can as well reduce the salaries than firing them out. like they say its not just an employee who goes jobless its his entire family…
Wipro doing more layoff asking employess to resgin, they do not follow the polices when they do not follow the polices we should not follow the polices and rules employees will lose faith on wipro.
Capgemini removing daily min 100 employee, but never mentioned to media. recently they lost HSBC account. removed more than 80 in Pune.
Virtusa which is branched in sri lanka and India chennai, laysoff 20-30 per week from march 20 2009. They are afraid of big number layoff and thats y this stratergy. too bad
Virtusa is a moronic company. They should be shut down
Yes, I heard they have layed off some senior employees in Sri Lanka. At the same time the website claims they are recruiting…… Gee I wonder who they are trying to fool.
After pay freeze Capgemini financial services layoffs entire bench in tune of 2200 employees.
Key points to be noted:
A rhetoric mail for one to one meeting is sent by HR team to employees on bench. This is infact initiation of employment termination.
The exit clearance is expedited so that formalities are completed by end of business day.
No options are being provided to employees.
However, 4-15 months salary is being given to laid-off’s.
Such a policy comes at risk of inappropriate use by other billable resources, so a new policy has been introduced wherein one will have to spent atleast 4 months on bench before being laid off.
Interestingly 2 years back CG was expecting to rise workforce to 23,000 in India. Senior management was unavailable to comment on this volte face as they are busy relishing large pegs of premium whisky and taing golf shots.
Billable resources are unsure about there future in organization. Any correction in salary is being ruled out.
right said man! the senior management is never made to suffer except for the normal employees. People never stop filling their stomachs with more and more and even more…I just dont understand why people in our country have the habit of just taking any shit that comes their way. All other countries (esp in latin america)protest so much about the lay offs but we just dont…
find latest lay-off in Tech mahindra @ http://ashq.wordpress.com/2009/05/08/1894/
There are layoff going to happen on this monday .
so whats gonna happen next…are we just sitting and watching it or are we planning to show some resentment atleast
How do you think you can show your resentment? This is what happens to many, one fine day they go to office as usual they are stopped right in front of the door and strip off thier ids and tokens if any and ask them to leave home, other belongings in your work place shall be sent to thier address. Stern and pathetic isn’t it.?
I am laid off two times within 4 months.
HCL has laid off in India the US and Australia and will continue to do so. Despite management’s claims that there have been no layoffs, there have been an awfullot. These are not related to job peformance as management says. These layoffs are to reduce costs and salaries. Unfortunately,HCL management is continuing their longstanding policies of lying to their employees, the media and even to themselves. HCL overpaid for Axon and that is their focus now. “Employee first” means “Employees out the door first”
What is the status now,Are IT companies still firing PM or Hiring PM?
My fiends joined virtusa as contractors. Yesterday they have been laid off saying there is no project. Poor guis they were working in a small company for good salary. They quit that job for Virtusa, now they are in trouble. I would not be advisable quiting good salary job for virtusa.
