Travis, the state and the government should be accountable like a business. Why shouldn't they be more frugal in these times like all businesses?

The state and any government is not a business and can not be managed as one

California has long wanted it all. Low taxes. Great schools. Fine human services. Filled prisons. Housing as a fail safe and fool proof investment. Just to keep our selves honest we elected 2 Hollywood actors as or Great Leader. Woe to then kill Sacred Cows. A curse upon them that raises taxes. Any energy saving supply plant is not for my back yard.

Some wrote in our newspaper "instead of closing down the DMVs for 2 days a month, why not operate them for one less hour a day?" Better yet, why not start with cutting 1 hour from every state employee?

Look at this $ being spent too......did anyone try to do any real detailed research? http://layoffblog.com/2009/02/18/jobless-phone-calls-cost-california-millions-of-dollars/

I left California 4 years ago. Why? I saw this collapse coming. Real Estate through the roof, tax payers supporting millions of illegals, an anti-business government. California is one of the worst states to operate a business in. Good ridence to the 20,000 gummint workers. The number should be higher. Most are lazy, overpaid, over subsidized through their ridiculous benefits and retirement packages and should be at job risk like any other "employee". Time to run government like a business instead of the over bloated charity it is. All governments should be laying off employees, whether it is city, county, state and especially federal.

Notice Arnold hasn't mentioned booting bums off the dole.....just raise taxes on the hard working tax payers. Crazy...just like a fox.

It's either raising taxes or closing schools, prisons, parks, police stations, fire stations, libraries and and a bunch of other things we have become accustomed to.
