U.S. announces arrests in several states alleging H1B visa fraud
According to ComputerWorld: ” Federal agents on Thursday said they arrested 11 people in six states in a crackdown on H-1B visa fraud and unsealed documents that detail how the visa process was used to undercut the salaries of U.S. workers.”
“The arrests were carried out by federal, state and local agents working in Iowa, California, Massachusetts, Texas, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and New Jersey. The government’s action “is the result of an extensive, ongoing investigation into suspected H-1B visa fraud, mail fraud and conspiracy,” said Matthew Whitaker, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Iowa, in a statement.”
ComputerWorld worte on October, 2008: “An internal report by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) examining the H-1B visa program has found evidence of forged documents and fake degrees, and even “shell” companies giving addresses of fake locations.”

Those doctors, nurses and NASA scientists (you mean J1s ?) are all US trained and are all well qualified unlike the H1 rikshaw pullers and dhobis (Greg would understand this word)branded as IT workers.
I am an indian immigrant and now a US citizen and I hate this H1 culture that has been created by these fake people. There may be a few talented ones but majority are fake low lives. I cringe sometimes to see them as fellow indians. And don’t blame the companies. One has to pay bribes to these companies to get an H1 and these cockraches don’t hesitate to come up with fake degrees/experience. Send them home immediately. There are legal ways to obtain a residency in the US and I waited 12 yrs to do just that. If you are willing to play by rules of this land and want to immigrate get in line at the consulate just like I did and many law abiding people with morals. And to all of you morans who think Ameirca can not survive without H1B roaches you are so foolish and stupid to think that. Americans are the most generous people who work very hard for what they want and don’t look for short cuts like you do.
Why American cannot finish their job without H1-B?

I am myself a US citizen and I toally agree with Padma. These cheats coming from Andhra and Tamilnadu has maligned the identity of other Indians who came on their own credentials decades ago. These asses take 4 week training, shamelessly lie on their resumes, hire another person to give interview and then come to US on H1-B. Have you ever seen any telugu hiring another non-telugu or tamil hiring another non-tamil?. Simply because these assholes want to hide their own dirty laundry and any outsider is threat to them. I hope Obama administration kicks out every one of these asses out of the country.

Hey Padma, it would be better if you understand and realize that there are two ways to get a H1B and then start talking. One way is to pursue a degree in the US, get a job while on OPT and then apply for a H1B; and the second being, applying from India through the employer and come here to work. Just that you waited 12 long years and became a US citizen, it does not mean you are no longer an Indian, and you can call those who speak the truth as roaches and morons. I don`t know where in this 12 years you have had learned that “All Americans” are the most generous people and work hard! If all Americans are most generous, then accept that no Indian or an immigrant for that concern is fake! Pity on you to see how ignorant you are! If you wanna rebuke someone, do it on all the people who caused this situation, so-called generous Americans who gave the contracts to those “low-lives” without proper scrutiny, and those Indians that look for shortcuts.

There are good and bad consultants everywhere, it is not the question of India or the US, it is how to eradicate the faking to be done in the future.

The worst enemy of an immigrant is the immigrant who came a little earlier.
It’s about time the federal agents have started cracking down on these shady indian firms. Please note that not all people working on h1b visas are shady or average. Some of them are honest, hard working who love their country but also love America and who also make a positive contribution to the society.

I believe it is time for Americans to speak up and take back the country from thieves. When did the American people get a chance to approve the crazy visa rules? These visa rules were created by crooked cooperations that selfishly exploited American workers for increased profits. As a result we exported out technology,and destroyed our middle class.
Hire U.S. Citizens first. Time for all these visa holders to go home. It our country. All other countries follow this simple idea.

Cisco is one of the top companies hire H1 Indians… After the last layoff, only
2 people with H1 were laid off and they were re hired back in different group
with in Cisco.. Many Americans were not hired back… We need to end H1.
India got her break with the technology transfer/job market. Now it is

Why only fire indian IT workers? Fire all Indian doctors, nurses and scientists working in Nasa. Dont you know Boby Jindal is also an immigrant, so fire him and depot him to India. stop all the flight to and from america. Let america prosper` itself.

Looks like someone has a sure sympathy for Mandalapu brothers. The origin of this case is from IOWA and had nothing to do with the names mentioned; they joined pretty late in the game and have no role to play in immigration.
Unless this is Mandalapur borthers who are writing this, its a different story but I know these guys for last 6 months and the story is different.
Back to the main point, if the H1B program is exploited, it should be looked into now and for every organization. That should not be spared for any IT staffing company.
