Agilent Technologies To Cut 600 Jobs

According to CNNMoney: “Agilent Technologies Inc. (A) said it will cut 600 jobs, or about 3% of its work force, as it reported fiscal first-quarter net income dropped 47% on lower sales because of the recession.

The cuts are in addition to those announced in December, when the company said it had 20,000 employees.

Agilent, which makes machines to analyze DNA, chemicals, sound waves and other items, said it would immediately close two small board-inspection businesses and begin restructuring its global infrastructure operations.”
