Fry’s lays off about 90 workers

Fry’s Food Stores laid off about 90 Arizona grocery workers Thursday in response to the deepening economic recession.
Fry’s is the second Arizona grocery chain to announce layoffs this year. Last month, Chandler-based Bashas’ laid off 350 employees in response to falling profits and increased competition.
